If you\u2019re among those who are at-risk of COVID-19, you\u2019ll likely have several concerns before you\u2019re willing to vising your dentist. Here\u2019s how your dentist in addressing the top concerns of at-risk patients to help you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donlandsfamilydentistry.ca\/faqs.html\">stay healthy<\/a> while getting the dental care you need.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is considered an at-risk patient?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Symptoms of coronavirus can vary in severity; however,\npeople who have certain pre-existing conditions are more likely to develop\nserious and potentially deadly complications. Generally, conditions that lower\nyour immune system put you at-risk, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Lung conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heart disease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diabetes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weakened immune system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obesity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic kidney disease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liver disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is the dental office germ-free?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dental offices are already some of the cleanest places, but dentists\naround the country have updated their safety protocols to create sterile environments\nfor patients. Besides cleaning and disinfecting between patients, your dental\nteam is wearing personal protective equipment and using barriers to prevent\ntransmitting the virus from one another. Your dentist can use virtual waiting rooms and teledentistry to limit your\ntime in the dental office.
